Tractor owners and laborers picketed Birendranagar Municipality Office on Sunday demanding tender to be called for sand mining.
According to the tractor operators, the tender should have been called on September 18. However, the municipality office did not call for bids causing the tractor operators to go out of business.
According to Mohan Maya Dhakal, Deputy Mayor of Birendranagar Municipality, the tender should have been called on September 18 but they did not announce the call for bids because the rain had not stopped among other reasons.
