35-year-old Reena Devi Chaudhary of Samsi Rural Municipality-1, Mahottari was beaten to death by her neighbor Rajesh Thakur when she went to Rajesh's home to ask for money she owed him for purchasing milk.

Suraj Chaudhary,  the deceased's 14-year-old son said "Rajesh beat mother a few weeks ago when she asked him for money. She sustained serious in the beating, although we took her to the hospital immediately after the incident for treatment we could not save her."

The deceased's post-mortem was conducted at Janakpur Zonal Hospital. Rajesh has gone into hiding after finding out that Rina has died.
