The employees of the cremation site in Pasupatinath Area have announced a strike, which would mean they would not partake in the cremation of the dead bodies at the Pashupati cremation site. The workers have demanded 1 million rupees gratuity, an increase of wage from 1060 rupees to 2000 rupees per cremation and suspension of age limit of sixty years for the capable workers to work.
They have placed the banner in the cremation site in the Pasupatinath area on the morning of October 23 with information that they have stopped all the work indefinitely, including burial, collection of wood and digging.
Talks between the Pashupati Area Development Fund and the agitating party are underway.
