Surendra Kurmi, a 25-year-old man, murdered his 55-year-old mother, Phulmati Kurmi, in the greed of wealth on November 1, informed Kapilbastu District Police Office.
According to the police, the drunk son had beat her mother to death on November 1. The post-mortem of the body was carried on November 2 in Taulihawa District Hospital. The police have launched a manhunt to nab an absconding son.
The ward head Shiva Kumar Pandey said that the son regularly ignited quarrels demanding 2 bigha of the common land to be passed to his name.
