Five persons were injured when a clash erupted between locals and security personnel on the issue of dumping site management at Thakurigaun of Banepa Municipality in Kavre district today.
The clash erupted when preparations were under way for the management of dumping site. Locals protested when a dozer was used to level for installing a machine that would destroy garbage through smokeless Japanese technology.
Ram Gopal Suwal, a local, said the clash between irate locals and security personnel that started around 11:00am lasted for half-an-hour. Suwal said that Sarada Timalsina, 62, Raj Kumar Poudel, 50, and Maiya Khatri, 52, of the municipality were injured in the clash. They are been receiving treatment in Sheer Memorial Hospital, Banepa.
