Police and locals clashed in Belaka Municipality of Udayapur on Tuesday.
The clash ensued after police tried to free some 20 tippers used in transporting stones and pebbles from Sisuwa Khola which the locals had taken control of saying that they were operating illegally.
Police tried to take the tippers to Udayapur district headquarter citing security reasons. Police clashed with locals after they obstructed the police from taking away the tippers. Police fired tear-gas shells after the situation tense.
