Police arrested a 25-year-old youth on November 30 for allegedly raping his 15-year-old sister in Gulariya Municipality. The accused had threatened to kill the victim if she told anyone of the incident before absconding. The victim said that she was not able to speak up about the incident for a few months because of the threat. Her aunt filed a complaint at the District Police Office, Bardiya on November 29 after the victim told the aunt about the incident of rape.
The police team deployed under the command of Inspector Laxman Oli of the District Police Office Bardiya arrested the brother from his friend's house. The victim's health check-up was conducted at District Hospital Gulariya on November 29.
