Police on Sunday evening arrested 24-year-old Saroj BK of Melamchi Municipality-13 on the charge of raping a 13-year-old girl.

The victim's family has accused BK of raping the girl on January 4 at his home by luring her with a promise of marriage. The victim's mother filed a complaint against Bk on January 8. 

The victim underwent a medical examination at a primary health center in Melamchi following the complaint, informed DSP Madhav Prashad Kafle. Police arrested the accused who went on the run after the incident from Melamchi Bazar.
