Relatives of a patient who died in Lumbini Provincial Hospital staged a sit-in in the hospital premises alleging that the patient died due to the negligence of the doctor.
The patient who died has been identified as 15-year-old Maya Thapa of Kanchan Rural Municipality, Rupandehi, who was admitted to the Lumbini hospital on December 4 for suffering from fever.
"There has been no negligence from the hospital. The patient was was already in a worst condition on her arrival at the hospital. We had provided ICU treatment", said Rajendra Khanal, Medical Superintendent of the hospital.
