Gir Bahadur Damai (50) was arrested by police in accusation of beating and killing his wife Khageswara Damai (40) on 20 February 2020. Damai is a resident of Surkhet District’s Lekbesi Rural Municipality-2 and he was arrested from Nepalgunj then brought to Metro Police Circle Chapagau informed Chief of the Range; DSP Krishna Raj Ojha.
Khageswara was patient of Tuberculosis (TB) and while she had fallen unconscious at the community forest of Lele, accused attacked and killed her, informed Inspector Rajendra Thapa. Reason behind killing can be assumed as the humiliation faced for being a TB patient, informed DSP Ojha.
Postmortem of the body was conducted at 23 February at Patan Hospital, Lalitpur, said DSP Ojha.
