MYAGDI, Feb 18: Police have arrested Mekh Bahadur Khadka, ward chair of Annapurna Rural Municipality-6, Myagdi, on the charge of digital sexual harassment.
Following a complaint filed by the alleged victim, police arrested Khadka, when he was watching a football match of the second President Cup Football Tournament at Annapurna-5, confirmed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kiran Jung Kunwar.
According to the complaint filed by the alleged victim, Khadka has been continuously approaching her for a sexual relationship. Likewise, the alleged victim has also accused Khadka of sending naked pictures from online to her Facebook messenger. The alleged victim has also claimed that Khadka had asked her to send nude pictures of her on Facebook messenger.
After going through the Facebook messages on the alleged victim's smartphone, police arrested the ward chair.
The husband of the alleged victim, a resident of district headquarters Beni, is overseas for foreign employment.
After getting messages continuously, the alleged victim didn't browse Facebook for some time. She also gave her login Id to her husband after getting disturbing messages.
Further investigation into the matter is underway, according to police.
In the meantime, the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has also suspended Khadka from the party.
