On April 18, Parsagadhi Municipality-5, Pacharukhi of Parsa District distributed relief food items to 224 needy people. However, some recipients got rotten rice. Some of those who received relief stated that the rice distributed was not edible. They had informed the media through local leaders after realizing they got the rotten rice in their relief package.
Municipal chief Lok Narayan Yadav, on the other hand, claimed that the municipality did not distribute rotten rice. According to him, they distributed relief in 8 of the 9 wards of the municipality, but they have not received such complaints elsewhere.
