24-year-old Gandhi Sah of Saptari living in Siraha has assaulted a Dalit woman from Kalyanpur Municipality-11 of Siraha on Saturday for refusing to have sex with him. According to the victim, Sah had been pressing her to have sexual intercourse with him, calling her multiple times. After not giving in to his demand, Sah allegedly beat the woman in front of the Kalyanpur Municipality Office and also tore her clothes.
The victim also reported that although she informed the head of Area Police Office Kalyanpur about the incident, police have not arrested Sah because of his political influence. Sah is the nephew of NCP's youth wing Youth Association's Siraha chairperson Baijanath Sah.
