A 40-year-old woman of Mithila Municipality-3 was beaten and injured on May 23 by her brother-in-law Bijay Mahato and her sister-in-law Sabita Mahato on the allegation of witchcraft. The beating has left bruises on the victim's thighs and back. Her treatment is undergoing at a private clinic of Dhalkebar.
The complaint lodged by the victim at the police has not yet been registered. According to Tirtharaj Karki, Inspector of Area Police Office Dhalkebar, police are planning to reach the spot of the incident for investigation because her case does not fall under their periphery.
