Four locals of Gauriganga Municipality were assaulted after requesting the ward office to quarantine 10 citizens who returned from Mumbai. Nara Bahadur Shah, Chairman of Gauriganga Municipality Ward No. 3 allegedly came with a group of 30 to 40 people including his son and assaulted four locals this morning. Saraswati Shah, a local said, "We had asked for 10 returnees from Mumbai to be quarantined, but the ward office refused to accommodate them."
Meanwhile, ward chairperson Shah said, "I’m not aware of the incident. However, I was informed about the debris in front of the ward office. But, I don't know who carried out the attack and why." According to DSP Gyan Bahadur Bista of Area Police Office, Malakheti, a team was deployed after a complaint was lodged against Sujan Shah. He informed that the ward chairperson's son Sujan Shah has been arrested.
