Youths assembled in Basantapur on June 12 as well to protest against the inefficient management from the government in containment of the coronavirus. They assembled to protest despite the notice from the home ministry not to stage protests during the lockdown. On June 11, the police employed a water cannon and lobbed teargas at a peaceful protest organised in the Capital against the government's lacklustre response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
