The wall being built by a private institution by encroaching on the land of RamJananki's bride and groom temple known as Belakuti in Janakpurdham Sub-metropolitan City-23 has been stopped after locals protested. The construction work halted after the hundreds of locals picketed the Guthi Sansthan Office in Janakpur on Monday.
A wall was being constructed for a new building on the temple land under the budget of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development of Province 2. The Gajendra Narayan Singh Memorial Institute has been claiming that it has leased 5 bigha and 10 katha of land from the Guthi Sansthan for the construction of a cancer hospital and research center. However, the Guthi Sansthan took back its decision after locals protested that no one could occupy the government land.
