Even though the operation of Kerung checkpoint has started in the district, problems have been created in the import of goods because of local obstructions. Containers heading to Kerung to pick up goods have been stranded on the way due to obstructions. According to the businessmen, the containers went to Kerung from Kathmandu were returned by the locals from Kalikasthan on Saturday. "We are staying at Betrabati after a mob of youths came in a hooligan style and threatened to return the container after we reached Kalikasthan," said the container driver of Silk Transport. The container drivers who were going to Kerung to collect the goods have demanded security, owing to unsafe conditions. "China imports only four containers of goods daily, there may have been some problems because of the increasing pressure on Nepali containers," said Rasuwa DSP Indra Subedi. Nepal-China had agreed on Wednesday that China would bring its own containers and drivers to Miteri Bridge and Nepali containers would deliver the goods to the respective places. The Chinese side mandated that the corona test of the driver and his helper would be done.
