A scuffle broke out between Santosh Kumar Mahato, Chairperson of Bariyarpatti Rural Municipality, and Ashok Kumar Singh, Chief Administrative Officer of Bariyarpatti Rural Municipality, on Friday.

The dispute reportedly started after some of the mayor's men entered officer Singh's office on Friday after the end of office hour and ordered him to issue checks. The root cause of the dispute which turned into a fistfight between the chairperson and the chief administrative officer is said to be a difference in accounting.
