Hundreds of locals of Phatuwa Bijaypur Municipality, Rautahat staged a demonstration and picketed the municipality office after Mayor tried to release illegally at the end of the fiscal year. The protesters have accused that Mayor, senior officials and accountant were issuing checks presenting false documents and withdrawing money at the end of the fiscal year.  Locals said that they were protesting as the mayor had done corruption on the budget allocated for COVID-19 response and had not shown income from the tender of river resources.
