Conflicts between private school management and the government have been exacerbated by the coronavirus pandemic and the ongoing lockdown. PABSON and N-PABSON, two private school umbrella organizations, said in a joint statement on July 15 that they were in extreme financial crisis, teachers would be on unpaid leave and that online classes would be closed from July 16.
Both organizations have warned to cancel the membership of the schools if any of them continue to conduct educational activities against the instructions. PABSON and N-PABSON intend to postpone the entire program until there is a proper environment for educational activities.
The Institutional School Teachers' Union (ISTU) submitted a memorandum to the National Human Rights Commission on July 17 requesting to take steps to resolve their problems of not being paid for over 6 months and their livelihood being impaired by the school management.
