A 15-year-old girl has been raped in Jagarnathpur Rural Municipality of Parsa district. The victim told police that two local youths took her under control from Chhapkal while she was fetching water from a tap on Friday morning, July 17 and one of them raped her.
The victim said that both of them ran away after the rape and only after she regained consciousness, she was able to inform her parents about the incident. "The accused youth has absconded and police are searching for him", said Deputy Superintendent of Police Manojit Kuwar. The incident came to light after the parents of the victim refused to comply despite the efforts of the people's representative of the village who even obstructed the police while trying to arrest the accused.
