Dhangadhi: A teenager's eardrum has ruptured after being beaten by the police at the temporary police post Vani in Krishnapur Municipality Ward No. 2 of Kanchanpur. The eardrum of 15-year-old Sunil Chaudhary has was ruptured due to the beating of police constable Shivraj Bhatta. He is currently undergoing treatment at Maya Metro Hospital in Dhangadhi.
Dr. Kadel, a specialist at the hospital, said that 60 percent of his eardrums were ruptured. He said that he has to be put on medication for three months thereafter he can undergo further treatment.
Chaudhary and his mother Anita Chaudhary were fishing when Bhatta assaulted them. The reason behind Bhatta’s treatment towards them is ambiguous. Nandaraj Badu, deputy inspector of police at the temporary police post, said that the incident is being investigated.
