Surgical Equipment businessman around Tripureshwor area of Kathmandu has started protest after a surgical businessman was attacked by locals. They staged a protest in Tripureshwor after Yuvaraj Belbase, owner of Himalayan Surgical, was beaten by the locals on Monday for opening the shop during the lockdown. The surgical businessmen have demanded to take immediate action against the perpetrators.
The state has allowed the surgical business to operate 24 hours a day under essential services. However, the Chemical and Surgical Suppliers Association of Nepal (KEMSAN) has sent a letter to the ward office and the local Boys Union Club to manage the operation of surgical shops only from 11 am to 2 pm in a day.
The spokesperson of Surgical Suppliers Association of Nepal Ashish Pyakurel said until now they have been following the rules made by KESMAN and the locals by considering the risk of COVID-19 19 infection but now on-wards they will not follow such rules after the businessmen are being beaten. Police said that the surgical field can be operated smoothly as it comes under an essential service mentioned by the state.
