Students padlock school in Bardiya

JTA students of the Guras Secondary School of Madhuwan Municipality, Bardiya has padlocked the administrative building and the entrance gate after they were failed in a test exam. The students had started the protest accusing the external supervisor Prakash Gautam and Jhalak Khadka of giving low numbers which are not sufficient to pass in practical examination.

The students had made public of their 3 points demands through a press release. They demanded that the given low marks should be corrected, students should be compensated if the marks could not be corrected, and the principal and program coordinator should resign on a moral basis.

According to the rule of CTEVT, the full mark of  experimental test is 20, but  the supervisor Gautam and Khadka had given the number based on  Full Mark 12. Out of 39 students only 6 were able to pass after the practical number was given on the basis of full Mark 12. One year academic session of the student is wasted after being failed in the practical test. Mewalal Gautam, the chairman of the school management committee, said that they were ready to meet the demands of the students and a decision will be made soon.
