Youths have staged a sit-in at Maitighar Mandala on Tuesday, with the slogan “Let’s Resist Discrimination Against Dalits” They have staged sit-ins and protests organized by the United Political Dalit Struggle Committee, Kathmandu and civil society.

They sit in the program was held at the Mandala under the banner of Joint Political Dalit Struggle Committee and civil society demanding justice for all the Dalits and other ethnic incidents that have taken place inside the jail.

Roshan BK, 19, of Dhangadhi-5, Kailali, was found dead inside the toilet of police custody on September 11. The victim’s family and Dalit rights activists are protesting against the police accusing that BK died of police torture. No investigation has been launched yet upon the incident.
