Police arrested Manshree Magar on the charge of murdering her 23-year-old daughter-in-law Elina Magar, who was found dead 10 days ago in Parajulibesi of Lamjung. Mother-in-law Manashree had seen the deceased hanging on the upper floor of the house with a snare.
According to Ram Bahadur Thapa, the deceased's father, suspicion has been raised over the intention of Manshree as the incident was reported to the District Police Office, Lamjung without informing the Area Police Office, Bhorletar, which is about three km away.
Elina's father-in-law has gone for foreign employment. Only mother-in-law and the deceased were living in the house. Ram Bahadur has lodged a complaint against the deceased's mother-in-law at the District Police Office Lamjung.
Neighbours of the deceased expressed suspicion that Elina may have committed suicide due to mental stress as frequent quarrels used to take place between the deceased and mother-in-law. The deceased has a six-year-old daughter and her husband is in India for employment.
