A dispute erupted between the locals and the park patrol team after two dozers were found operating in the buffer zone of Shivpuri National Park at Thumka in Sangla of Ward No. 1 of Tarkeshwor Municipality on September 29.
Meanwhile, local Madhav Prasad Timilsina assaulted Rituraj Poudel, a senior game scout of the park claiming that the park office used force to control the dozers in order to control other illegal land subdivisions. He said that he revolted to end the excesses of the park office, which allowed illegal work by taking a bribe but caused misery to the locals.
The incident was reported at the head office of Shivpuri National Park, Panimuhan and to the local people's representatives, consumers and concerned bodies. Timilsina was handcuffed when the patrol team took control of the area. The park office verbally lodged a complaint in Balaju Circle asking to arrest the culprit. However, a discussion is scheduled between the two sides on Wednesday afternoon to understand the reality of the incident to reach a solution.
