Six arrested for mediating rape case in five hundred rupees

Police arrested six persons from Bajhang District on the charge of mediating the incident of rape by paying the victim five hundred rupees. The arrested were Galphe Bohora, Lal Bahadur Bohaora, Dhanchadi Bohora, Thamkala Bohora, Biru Damai of ward no. 2 and Dhaul Damai of Masta Rural Municipality-3, Bajhang.
A 13-year-old child of Masta Rural Municipality-2, Bajhang, was raped by 20-year-old Rajendra Bohora, on August 13. The villagers settled the incident by paying the victim Rs500 and making Rajendra apologize for the incident on August 15. However, the incident became public only after one and half months when the same Rajendra Bohara killed 12-year-old Samjhana Kami after raping her.
DSP Rupak Khadka said that that legal action would be taken against those arrested.
