Police made public a person arrested on a rape charge in Bhaktapur. The arrested has been identified as 21-year-old Kush Yadav permanent resident of Kanchanpur Municipality-9, Saptari, currently living at Baneshwor, Kathmandu.
Yadav was arrested for raping a young woman in Dhunchepakha of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-2. Police said that Yadav was arrested from Madhyapur Thimi-1 Lohkilthali on Tuesday, October 6, after the victim told the police about the incident. Police had arrested the victim on the charge of giving birth to a baby and abandoning it. During police interrogation, she stated that she was raped by Yadav and had become pregnant.
According to Keshav Kumar Thebe, DSP Information Officer, Metropolitan Police Complex, Bhaktapur, Yadav is being further investigated by the Bhaktapur District Court.
