Adolescents staged a protest in front of the District Administration Office in Banke, on October 11, demanding amendments in the constitution by including the provisions from the state that allow raped woman to work freely in the state, death penalty to the rapists, punishment to the perpetrators and high compensation to the victims. They also handed the memorandum over to the Chief District Officer of Banke.
The teenager girls also urged not to politicize the sensitive incidents such as rape. They have demanded that the relationship between the police and public should be made more effective along with the police system in every area, that the criminals should not be acquitted under the guise of nepotism and favouritism and that the local state government should launch a special campaign against such incident.
They have further demanded not to only make the law but effectively implement it and to review the international treaties and agreements once for all.
