The body of 35-year-old Kalawati Khunna of Freed Kamaiyas’ Community from Naukhari, Shuklaphanta Municipality-8 was found in a suspicious condition. It was found buried on the bank of the river by the locals on Wednesday, October 14. The body was then taken to Mahakali Hospital for autopsy.
Locals started searching for her after she did not return to the village. On Tuesday, October 13, she went for fishing in local Sanwora River along with her 26-year-old brother-in-law Mann Singh Khunna, and her 10-year-old son.
According to eyewitnesses, the body had head injuries and was bleeding from the genital. Mann Singh went to police on Wednesday afternoon seeking help to find his missing sister-in-law. Police suspect that Mann Singh may have committed the murder as there was a blood stain on his pant and has arrested him.
