Police arrested 34-year-old Roshan Naga of Suryabinayak on the charge of beating his 29-year-old wife Niru Kasichhwa to death in Bhaktapur. Niru went to her mother’s house crying on October 4 saying that her husband had been beating her continuously and she wanted to file a complaint at the police. Niru filed a complaint against Roshan at Metropolitan Police Circle Bhaktapur the same day with her brother's help.
Police summoned Roshan and mediated an agreement between the husband and wife to live amicably. They also set a date of 5 days for Roshan to present himself at the police office. Roshan, however, did not show up at the police office on the due date. Instead, a murder complaint was lodged against him for beating Niru to death. Police are further investigating the incident.
