Agitated employees of Janaki Medical College on a hunger strike

Employees of Janaki Medical College and members of the Employees' Rights Protection Committee in Dhanusha, who were protesting for the past two weeks went on a hunger strike from November 1. Employees are agitating demanding the payment of their two months’ salary, six years' provident fund and tenth allowance. They further accused the college administration of firing five employees for demanding the provident fund and the remaining salary. 

The agitating employees closed all the branches of the college including teaching, OPD, administration and accounting due to which all the services of the college was suspended for two weeks except the emergency. The college administration stated that were not able to pay the employees for the last two months due to various reasons even though they have been paying regular salaries during the lockdown period.
