Dalits in Gaur, Rautahat led by Nepal National Musahar Association and Madhesi Dalit Development Federation padlocked the local public housing program implementation unit on November 2 chanting slogans after Rs 1 billion was frozen that was sent by the federal government for the construction of houses for the Dalits and the poor. About 3,000 households have been left homeless since last year due to obstruction in the disbursement of the amount. 

They alleged that the community spent up to Rs 5,000 per family to register the form and collect the necessary documents and evidence for the construction of the house but still nothing has been done.
