Province 1, Jhapa, Shivasataxi, Ward 10
NSU Jhapa padlocked the administration of Balanikunj Secondary School in Shivasatakshi Municipality-10 on November 10 for demanding a hefty fee of Rs. 4000 from student Arjun Upreti for a character certificate and marksheet to be given after passing the SEE examination.
According to vice-president of NSU, they warned the school to take the fee charged for the certificate as prescribed by the government, otherwise, they would start a protest. The government should provide education in community schools free of charge. He also urged the parents and students to immediately inform if any school in the district is known to have charged fees in such an arbitrary manner.
