Relatives of a woman who died after undergoing an operation to deliver baby have picketed Devadaha Medical College accusing the hospital of negligence in her operation. The deceased has been identified as 31-year-old Radha Tharu, of Tilotta in Rupandehi. According to her relatives she underwent an operation on December 3 and gave birth a to a baby. But four hours after the operation she started to bleed profusely from the area where she was disected during the operation. She was placed into ICU on the same day and and underwent a second operation. The hospital declared her dead on Sunday afternoon.
Relatives of the victim have since staged protest at the medical college demanding proper compensation. The hospital had promised to waive all medical charges and pay rupees four lakhs to the victim's family according to the protestors.
