Tribhuvan University’s (TU) part-time professors staged a sit-in on December 16 demanding equal pay and contract for all part-time professors who have completed one academic session, alleging the department of intellectually exploiting them for years. 

The professors' union has also demanded the repeal of the directive brought by the university and guarantee of academic advancement.

Patron of the Partial Professors' Association, Shashi Kumar Sharma, said that the agitation has been going on for 15 years but the points of agreements are still not implemented.
