The Joint Struggle Committee of trade unions and professional unions working in the health sector staged a sit-in in front of the Ministry of Health and Population on December 27. The coordinator of the sit-in program, Dr Lochan Karki, said they resorted to the protest after their 18 points demands were not fulfilled.
The demands include free treatment of COVID-19 and other complex diseases, an increase in the number of isolation centres, increase in testing, contact tracing, and other facilities for health workers.
