Farmers staged a demonstration in Baneshwor, on Wednesday, against the government’s decision to open foreign investment in the agriculture sector. Industrialists and agricultural activists also attended the demonstration. Various 18 organizations have formed a struggle committee against the government’s decision.
The cabinet in late December decided to open the currently banned sectors of primary agriculture production for foreign investments with a condition that at least 75 per cent of products produced by them should be exported.
