Dalit communities of Dailekh, Surkhet, Banke, Kailali, Salyan, Jajarkot and other districts of western Nepal have started a social awareness campaign in Dailekh on February 13. Under the campaign, they staged a massive demonstration to show their unity against the caste discrimination and untouchability and for the acquisition of their rights.
The campaign is started to raise the consciousness of the Dalit, exploited and oppressed community and inspire them to become self-reliant. 15,000 Dalit communities were present under the National "Dalit Mukti Jagran Abhiyan".
