Local representatives, women's rights activists, and locals led by Mayor of Resunga Municipality Dilliraj Bhusal picketed the district administration office Gulmi demanding an investigation into the disappearance of a woman and death of her mother-in-law in Resunga of Gulmi district.
22-year-old Samjhana Bohora Khatri of Bhadgaun in Resunga Municipality-3 has been missing since February 11 while her mother-in-law Tomkala Khatri was found dead near her house on February 13.
Police had detained Samjhana's husband Netra Bahadur Khatri and the mother-in-law, Tomkala Khatri, on the basis of a complaint lodged by Samjhana's family on January 12 after she went missing. However, Tomkala who was sent home after the interrogation was also found dead hanging the other day. The locals picketed the police office demanding a fair investigation into the incident.
