Locals blocked the road in the Hatiya Line area of Birendranagar, Municipality-6 in the province of Karnanali, on 25 February, due to increased air pollution resulting from delays in road construction. The two main roads and four auxiliary roads in the area were cordoned off by ropes and nets.
They reported that the increased dust created difficulties in running the businesses in the region. The old road had been demolished to build a new road a year ago, but the locals were agitated because the road had not yet been constructed. They accused the ward person, Mayor, and regional ministers of delaying construction.
