Locals protested in the Lalbandi Municipality of Sarlahi saying that a 7-month-old baby had died due to negligence of a doctor.
Expressing outrage at the hospital, they also blocked the east-west highway for an hour. The 7-month-old son of Ramesh Giri, a resident of Janawadi Chowk in Lalbandi Municipality-6, was undergoing treatment at the local Village Friendly Children's Hospital for the past few days and died on the way to Janakpur after being referred to the hospital on Friday morning. The relatives of the child have alleged that the doctor involved in the treatment has acted irresponsibly and treated them indecently by referring them at the last minute instead of referring them at the beginning of treatment was not possible.
Spokesperson of the District Police Office Sarlahi and DSP Madan Kunwar informed that the highway was blocked for about an hour after the victim's family and the hospital had an agreement to deduct all the expenses incurred for the treatment of the child.
