GORKHA, Mar 1: A 14-year-old girl was held captive for a week and raped in Gorkha district.
According to the Police, Kashi Ram Sunar of Arughat Rural Municipality-6, 26, took the girl to his house, promising to take her to maternal uncle's house on February 20. He then held her hostage and raped her. A case has been filed against Sunar.
“Sunar was arrested on Saturday and the District Court has granted 10 days to carry out further investigation,” said the Police Chief SP Surendra Gurung.
The victim’s family had found the girl in Sunar’s house following her disappearance.
Meanwhile, in another case, 87-year-old man of Gandaki Rural Municipality-4 has been found raping a 13-year-old girl over a period. Following the deterioration of her health condition, the girl claimed that she was raped multiple times.
A case has been filed against Kedarprasad Devkota of raping the girl, according to SP Gurung. “Devkota has been arrested and further investigation is underway,” he added.
