Locals in Chitwan picketed the ward chairman Binod Regmi's house and a police post in Kholesimal demanding action against a girl and her family in the case of death of Kanchan Timilsina in Kalika Municipality Ward No. 6, Gurauchaur of East Chitwan. They accused the ward chairperson Regmi of calling the police and beating the victim's family and defending the accused girl's side without speaking in favour of the victim.
Kanchan Timilsina consumed poison 63 days ago after he was separated from the girl who used to be his lover by her family and died on March 23 while undergoing treatment. Relatives of the deceased also picketed the girl's house immediately after his death.
