Locals vandalized the house of the chairperson of Chandranagar rural municipality in Babergunj on March 10, accusing him of trying to relocate the office of the municipality from Chandranagar Nadhiman Lake premises to Babargunj. The number of security personnel was increased in the area after the locals picketed and vandalized the chairman's house. Locals of Kamat, Chandranagal, and Khadkatol have been staging sit-ins in the municipality since March 5.
