Employees of Marchwari Rural Municipality in Rupandehi are on a strike halting all administrative works for an indefinite period since March 21 against the local representative's alleged verbal and physical assault on municipality staff.

Ward Chairman of Ward No. 3, Narayan Bahadur Yadav, allegedly pressured, Premsagar Paswan, a sub-engineer of the rural municipality office,  demanding more than the schemes of work evaluation. It is also mentioned Yadav beat and insulted Paswan.

However, the chairman has denied all the accusation and state that the employees refused to pay the amount after evaluating the work of the scheme properly.
