Around 2000 locals in the Baudhimai municipality of Rautahat picketed the municipality office against the municipality mayor's arbitrariness and corruption. The protesters accused Rajiv Ranjan Yadav, chief of the municipality, of not distributing social security allowances even after the end of the fiscal year, illegally recruiting staff in the health sector and trying to build a 15-bed hospital in an unsuitable place.
Leader Rajan Yadav, who is contesting for the state assembly seat, and Tribhuvan Sah, a youth leader who is contesting for the post of mayor from the Maoists, have said that the protest will continue till the demand is met.
