The family members of 50-year-old Awadh Kishor Yadav of Pacharauta Municipality-5 lodged a complaint of physical assault against six persons including the Ward chairman Laxmi Prasad Yadav at the District Police Office on March 26. The complaint alleges that Kishor Yadav was beaten by a group of five persons on the order of Ward Chairman Laxmi Prasad Yadav on March 25 for raising the issue of non-disbursement of poverty alleviation funds due to ward chairpersons' refusal to provide a recommendation.
38-year-old Pramod Prasad Yadav, 40-year-old Sukhari Prasad, 50-year-old Jayanath Prasad Yadav, 16-year-old Pradip Kumar Yadav and 18-year-old Bikesh Yadav of the same place attacked him with rods and bricks. The victim has sustained serious injuries on the head, hands and back.
